Letter 6 - 25 January 2001 Hey now! Hello Dave, Chris old chaps! First of all Chris, its okay to write beyond the borders of the paper, I do it all of the time, I personal think its waste of paper taunt upset. Now, I am so glad that I do have someone that I can communiate with, Frankly, put simply, you cannot make it in this world alone, and I'm so grateful. I had planned to write you guys earlier, but as you know, things can get extremely sad around here. First I'll get back to the phone call that you received at 3 am in the morning! Did you know that after Dave answered the phone - nobody said anything for a long time, the women thought that you were the operator I kept saying 'No, Its them, they're in the bed, that's when you heard me yell Chris! I was so thrilled! You like my accent hu? Well WE love your accents, my happiness rubbed off onto them. I actually felt love coming through the phone. I know that 5 mins isn't a long time, but we must use it the best way we can which brings me to this, so check it out, I love both of you, in the US we have this saying 'get in' where you 'fit in' which means this, when I'm able to call won't ask to speak to a particular person I'm calling to talk to you two, so regardless of who's on the line - I'm going to talk to whoever's there! So I guess that whoever answers the phone will have to share the phone and not hog it! Hell, I feel like you two are really one anyway and once you get married you definitely will be as one! So 'get in where you fit in'. I'm just so crazy about the two of you! Ooooh! I'm glad that your mum liked the card, I wish I was able to do more! And Chris, I know that they are doing nice things from their hearts and not expecting something in return, but the thing with me is that if I do not say thank you or something then I simply will not feel comfortable with myself. That's one of the reasons why I'm always so desperate for stamps, for January so far I've written out 13 letters and not all of them good but my feelings cause me to respond to every letter and I still try to reach people within Organisations who may be willing to participate in the fight against the death penalty and my opinion is still the same, the US is full of selfish people. Yes I got to meet Ah-Lee-sha, she was with her partner Bradley, they bought me candy, chips, soda, sandwich and we had a good time! We talked about so many things and check this out, on the Saturday that they came on, visiting hours were and is 5.30 pm until 9.30 pm, but its only 2 hours per visit so they were here at 5.30 and normally the visit would have ended at 7.30; but we visited from 5.30 pm until 9.30 pm. That was a blessing for real. About the camera, visitors are not allowed to bring cameras in but there is a camera in the visiting area that is available to those who may want to buy a photo or 3, and the day of the visit the camera just happened to be out of order. They did say that if possible they would be back before the baby is born and I'll be sure to check on the camera so I can send you a photo. The drawing I'm glad that you liked the drawing of Horace, its supposed to be a stocky, bold, dashing looking cat in his prime, I wanted to show Horace without the extra Fat. Ha, my strongest concern was just having it make it you undamaged, so I'm just so thankful for that. I know you've heard about the escape, guess what, there are 2 book deals already - that's the kind of stuff that is going on in Texas, but I can't get that kind of coverage unless I do something whacky. Well chaps, just let me know when you're coming and I'll definitely get my visiting list up to date - No Problemo! That would be some cool s*** for real - straight up! Fact Fiend - believe me, being on death row will make your ass seek out all kinds of facts. You are laughing right? Ok, anyway, I just love learning new things, especially fascinating stuff that's totally new to me, which reminds me - The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2001 updated annual reference book is out, yea my neighbour shouted it out to me the other day, so I thought I'd throw that out there .. I'm happy when I think that I make you guys laugh. I no longer have gas Chris, but I wish I did. Since January 13th, we have had our cells searched EVERY DAY and [...] I have had my things abused, papers torn, walked on and some even came up missing and you can assume its because of the escape and even though they've been caught, we're still being treated like crap! And some treat us worse than others. You know, I think your idea of an information pamphlet on a good practice guide is a very good idea why don't you put some ideas down, thoughts, specifics and we will take it from there then try to market it later? What cha think? . I had a brief story for the MEN until I changed my mind about it when I found it all balled up, I just ripped it to bits ..I'm sending you a picture of the lady whom J Jackson was protesting, did you hear about him having a baby boy by another woman? 38 years of marriage and bam - he's cheating! And no, I'm not surprised Hey, thanks for the letter you are going to write for me, you do know that we now have a new Secretary of State - Colin Powell, so good luck! L Tony Blair is a real piece of work, a special ambassador against the death penalty hu? Well, that's a great positive. I'll get back to him in a moment). I'm ready now, back to Blair - on the radio that I got myself for Christmas I can pick up the news station - Pacific News Network and at 8-9 am and 7-8 pm Monday to Friday I'm treated to the BBC, there are some reporters I'm used to hearing now, maybe you've heard of them - Robin Lustig, Sue Montgomery, Paul Adams and there are just a few of the reporters. Anyway, I've heard all about Dr Shipman! [...] Oh well. I know about (recently) Tony Blair's friend resigning from government (ambassador?) work for taking bribes - or a payoff for helping this rich guy get British Citizenship and Blair had stuck his neck out for this guy once. I know about the twin babbies situation and by the way, I did hear the interview the Kilshaw couple gave, plus news of the trial of the naked man who was also released from the courtroom naked! Now if its bad weather outside then I can forget about picking up anything from the station and I can barely do that now. Speaking of the radio, heres what I got for Christmas; a radio, headphones, thermal top, hygiene products, stamps, food and a multi plug. I'm about out of food, down to some soups and a few cans of chilli and yes Chris, the roast beef sandwich was pretty warm. Here is how we warm our food: Some guys will sit a can good inside the hot pot get it warm, others like me will use a potato bag, place the contents of the can inside the bag, then tie off the top, sit it inside and after a few hours Boom! Chow time. This way you can still use the hot water for noodles or rice. The other way, just developed on the cans. About the stationery, well I could use some moor pads - 81/2 x 11 ¾ if possible = Prism makes the best kind (color) J and I was thinking that composition books would be good for me to use instead of making notes on the first thing I can grab and of course that's part of the reason. I have too many important documents lying around just waiting to be abused by crazy guards. Might as well throw in some envelopes too, but s***, I'll just get back to that later - back to the good stuff. Chris, thank you for wanting to try and reach my family, and yes I may take you up on the offer, but not right now, though I do want to reserve the idea - you are so special you know what, I'm feeling 'mushy'. I think of how you and Dave have helped me and will just want to cry. I can't describe the level of love I feel from you, but trust me it's a love that I've never felt, so its truly a wonderful feeling. Okay, onto the other stuff..The articles that are about me and my trial goes onto anthonynealy.com the articles on the different things surrounding cap punishment belong to you. Those articles for you, I thought that you would want to make you a scrapbook and be able to show it off maybe even use it as a morale booster, hell you can even make a book and use those as extra things to take up page space. But I wouldn't mind you putting any of them on my site. Yes I did ask that you KEEP EVERYTHING after its put on the website. Everything! If something is needed then, I'll just ask for a copy or something, so again, the articles about me and trial goes on site, ALL other articles are yours to do as you want. Chris, Dave the only access I have to newspapers is when someone will clip something out of their paper and sneak it to (which is usually the USA Today) and since, being in this part of the building things are more difficult, so if I'm lucky, I may get something of interest from someone, but to actually read a paper, no the closest I came to reading a complete paper was when you sent the materials on Dr Shipman and the guy released from prison. [....] Did you receive an email from [Alicia] that was requesting some investigative work on the internet for me? Yea, I sent her a list of things that I needed checked on via the internet and I asked her to pass it onto you and the lady at the church in an effort to make it a joint effort instead of one person attempting to take on the task alone, so let me know if you need more info - but the way the name of the prosecutor who upped and resigned is [....], so that should make investigating him a bit easier and you may also want to pass the name onto Alicia because I forgot to include it with the letter sent but hopefully there was enough information available to proceed without it. SO about writing to Amnesty International, once I do put the up dates together, I'll just include something for them too, how's that? Righto, moving right along, I do not think that its fair for all the conferences to be held in London because I get the impression that the majority of the members live outside London such as you and many others and I'm certain that LifeLines can afford to have the conferences in places that are mutually and equally easy to reach, so perhaps this should be brought to the attention of Rachel Jones, let me know? I did get the photos of the LifeLines conference and I do have a favourite amongst them, but I'm sure that its obvious which one, the one where you are at the desk with copies of the report and my photo sitting like I was the President of the damn place. Horace doesn't have anything on me when it comes to a swelled head. Well, maybe he does . Chris, back to the conference, you know. I'm sure that its known that so many people want to attend, but simply can't afford it, I think that there should be transcripts available for those in situations like those and they can even record the conference What do you think? Traveller's checks Well I'm sincerely grateful but I must confess I had never saw a travellers check before you sent the copy and that made me wonder if you had any more deposit slips, I had completely forgotten about them so I'll try to find some more before I mail this letter out. Back to the scrapbook of yours, you should be getting some more articles with this letter and you know those on me will be there to give a little bit of background on things and before I forget - you can get those same articles - check Archives.Dallasnews.com Look for articles in the Metro Section - dated Aug 20th, 21st or 22nd 1997 and for all of them just look up the dates on the article itself. Right, no doubt it would be better to do the letters after the site is up - Hey can you put together the same letter to Colin Powell that was for Albright? I'd be very grateful. Be sure to let Emma know that I'm single and that I'm thrilled about the post cards, which were really nice. Okay already .moving right along, there's a different company who also orders from overseas (so I heard) anyway its www.vikingofficeproducts.org Their order No# for the MEAD composition books is G01-414086. Pads should be 81/2 x 113/4- no metal. Envelopes 41/8 x 91/2, you can usually get a box around $4.49 no windows. That same mead composition book at officedepot.com is: Item 060-414-086 MFR MEAD9939 Prescription Black 100 Page Now theres also a new 'World Almanac and Book of Facts 2001' updated annual reference book (NF) I also heard that this place - Northmain.com has half-priced and cheaper books, some gently used. And with that, I'm closing, so you guys take care and be of good cheer Lots of Love, Ant PS If its any good
to try - please know that I'd rather have food than all of this stuff.
Oh well, I tried.
